Obituary for Danice A. Strickengloss (Curran)

Danice A. Strickengloss (Curran), 74, of Castle Rock, CO, passed away peacefully Thursday, 3/23/2023, at Skyridge Hospital, surrounded by family members. She was born in 1948 to her parents, Robert (Bob) and Ruth Curran, in Pittsburgh, PA. Her husband, John (Jack) Strickengloss of 51 years, preceded her death.

She was an active member of the Drama Club at Castle Rock Senior Center. Her major accomplishments were obtaining a Black Belt in Judo and a Brown Belt in Taekwondo. She also won a major art award and was only 10 points away from being in Mensa. She also worked as an educator in a daycare where she saved at least 3 children’s lives from choking. Her hobbies included mushroom forays, spending time in nature, and reading.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Kerri (Brian) Hochberger, sons Leif (Kim McMeen) Strickengloss, and Cory (Melissa) Strickengloss.

Brother Greg Curran and sister Karla Curran. Brother-in-Law Bill (Barbara) Strickengloss.

Grandchildren include Tarian (Matt) Boscia, Kendra (Brandon) Mueller, Shaylea (Chase) Strickengloss, Leif Christian (Nathalie) Strickengloss, Joshua (Hannah) Strickengloss, Jonathan (Brooklyn) Strickengloss and Mary Munhall.

Great-grandchildren include Madelyn and Macy Boscia, Kayden and Landon Mueller, and Aspen Strickengloss.

Nieces and nephews include Terri (Michael) Pisani, William Strickengloss, Richard (Patricia) Strickengloss, Taylor (Kimberly) Ley, Jesse Ley, Jennifer Curran, Heidi (Armando) Bojorges, Lee (Cheyne) Seaman, Chase Seaman.

Great nieces and nephews include Kody Pisani, Sarah and Hannah Strickengloss, Cassidy and Carson Ley, Selah Curran and Caesar Curran, Adrian Bojorges, Isis Seaman, Curran Velasco

The family will arrange for her burial with her husband, John (Jack) Strickengloss, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Pennsylvania, with a memorial to follow the cemetery ceremony. The date is to be determined.
