Obituary for Daniel Andrew Binkley

Daniel was born at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on May 28, 1989 to his adoring parents David and Joann Binkley, and joined his older brother Christian as part of the family. He lived in Golden, Colorado until almost three years old when the family moved to White Ranch Park in Golden Gate Canyon. Danny died in his home on April 1st, 2022.

Danny loved the outdoors and grew up helping around the ranch daily. He followed his older brother into the Boy Scout program becoming a Tiger Cub Scout in the 1st grade. Danny had many highlights throughout his scouting career, he enjoyed the week long summer camp at Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch annually. Danny also attended the Big Horn leadership training at Tahosa High Adventure Base. A highlight of scouting was attending the National Scout Jamboree in Virginia where he took on the leadership role of quartermaster for 36 other young men. Danny achieved the rank of Life Scout before he was through with scouts.

One of Danny's greatest passions outdoors was riding bicycles and motorcycles. When Danny was a young teenager, his father ignited a lifelong passion of motorcycling in him. At 13 years old Danny began riding dirt bikes with his father and younger brother. Throughout his life Danny would own a total of five motorcycles varying in the spectrum from dirt to sport bike. One of Danny’s greatest passions was modifying and tuning his sport bikes. Danny found solace in the work he skillfully completed on his motorcycles. His love for motorcycle riding stayed with him always.

Most people quickly found out Danny was very creative and was an outside the box type of thinker. He would see a job that needed to be done and would just start doing it. What other people could see as hopeless, he could see as a vision. He had a gigantic gentle heart and showed that in the ways he cared for and loved those around him. As a teenager he took care of his little brother, sometimes with little support and in crazy flash floods. This compassion shone through his adult years in the way he cared for his friends and those close to him.

During the past several months the shining light that Danny carried with him through the world was smothered by an uncontainable darkness. In the end, Danny was overwhelmed by the demons and voices that he was unable to break free from. Family and friends tried to reach him but we tragically lost him to that darkness.

In this time as we remember Danny's time with us, we pray that EVERYONE who knows Danny carries his light and love with them to share with the world.
