Obituary for David R. Miller
David R. Miller, 71, Golden, Colorado, returned to his home in heaven on Sunday, July 24, 2022.
David was born April 20, 1951 in Burlington, Iowa, the oldest son of Ralph and Dora Mae (Girard) Miller. He married Valorie Stevenson, his high school sweetheart, on July 3, 1969 in Onawa, Iowa. He graduated from Western Iowa Tech College in Sioux City, Iowa in 1973, (2016 Alumnus of the Year Award) and was immediately hired at Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado. He retired from Coors as Director of Engineering Technical Services, Can Manufacturing, (Largest aluminum can plant worldwide) in April 2012, after 39 years of dedication.
David was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed family trips, always with “pupper” along side, to Estes Park, Grand Lake and Iowa. Playing pool and enjoying the 50’s jukebox was the family favorite. He loved playing sports with all his “buddies” and always looked forward to helping his father-in-law with spring planting on the farm, away from the office. David and his wife shared friendships with their high school classmates since he loved organizing their class reunions in retirement.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Valorie; their three daughters, Jacqueline, Joey, and Jeannie; siblings, Carol (Bill) Thompson, Dwight (Mari) Miller, Doug (Cindy) Miller, Duane (Teresa) Miller, Catherine (John) Webster, Darl (Elaine) Miller, and Danny (Wendy) Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dora Mae Miller and his sister, Carla (Roger) Reiling.
