Obituary for Mary Ann Chisolm (Holleran)

Mary Ann Chisolm (Holleran), age 68, loving mother and nana passed away July 14, 2022 in Arvada, Colorado. Mary was born in 1953 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Melissa Seltzer, Jennifer Boyd (Jim Boyd) and her grandchildren Ashlee Seltzer, Megan Seltzer, Zachary Boyd and Zoey Boyd and her fur babies Teddy and Ricco. Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Bluge and her son-in-law Jody Seltzer.

Mary graduated from Shamokin High School in 1971 and moved to Colorado shortly thereafter, where she raised her two daughters. Mary valued education and instilled a strong sense of this in her children and grandchildren. An A was perfect, B was okay and a C was a big fat no (don’t ask about the other letters)!

If you knew Mary, her straight-shooting personality was unforgettable. She was loud; sometimes dramatic and never afraid to voice her opinion, especially with… well, everything! On any given weekend, you could find her sitting with her dogs, hanging with family/friends, doing a crossword puzzle, and of course watching sports. The woman loved her sports teams and was ecstatic to see the Colorado Avs bring the cup home. Her home was filled with anything purple and everything ladybugs. She worked hard to provide for her family, credit and collections was the perfect career for her. If you drove with Mary, you knew to pack some tums and double up on your seatbelt. Don’t expect her to be on time for anything, it isn’t happening! Her wit and sarcasm have provided numerous eye rolls and even more laughs. Above all else, Mary loved her girls and grandchildren more than life itself. She was fierce, strong-willed, stubborn… you get the idea; she was truly one of a kind.

Mary’s personality was larger than this world, anyone who met her has a Mary story. She’s reunited with her mom in Heaven, talking Avs with Jody and hugging her dogs that passed on before her. Thanks for the laughs, memories, encouragement, daily check ins, endless love, support and more.

Mom/Nana… you are our angel now, keep a watch over us. We love and miss you…forever in our hearts. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
